underpainting

Terms

Plain terms for a simple tool.

What underpainting is

underpainting turns a layered artwork file into a reconstruction of its painting process — a process visualization, like an architect's rendering. It is not a screen recording of the work being made, and you should not present it as one. It never generates artwork: every frame is built from the layers you painted.

Your work, your rights

Only upload files you hold the rights to. You keep every right to your artwork and to the videos made from it; we claim none. You are responsible for what you upload and for how you use the result.

The free tier

Videos rendered on the free tier carry a small underpainting watermark. Files and videos are deleted after 24 hours, uploads are rate-limited, and the service is provided as-is, without warranty — a failed render costs you nothing but the wait.

Fair use

Do not use the service to process work that is not yours, to distribute unlawful content, or to overload the infrastructure. We may block abusive traffic to keep the service working for everyone else.

Every video is a reconstruction — a process visualization built from your own layers, the way an architect's rendering shows a building. It is never a screen recording, and it is never AI-generated.
